Results form the FI-STAR Open Call for additional project partners
The FI-STAR Open Call for additional Project Partners has been launched in September 2013 with submission deadline on 20 November 2013. We received 83 proposals from 21 countries and 115 proposing organisations. Two additional proposals have been received which did not meet the basic Open Call requirements and, therefore, were not considered for evaluations. After evaluation of the 83 proposals by independent experts, which included off-line evaluations and physical consensus meetings, 9 proposals have been invited for negotiations and inclusion in the FI-STAR project consortium.
The FI-STAR Open Call was calling for proposals in the following three categories:
- Strengthen the technology basis of the FI-STAR platform by adding functionality that is currently not foreseen but which will provide significant added value to the existing experimentation sites and use case scenarios of FI-STAR.
- To attract developers to deliver innovative applications or value added services, among others for the existing experimentation nodes, using the FI-STAR platform including the generic enablers and specific enablers that comprise this platform.
- To strengthen the reach to the stakeholders of the sector by additional dissemination mechanisms
Maximum budget available for new project partners for all categories together was 1,323,000 € (EC contribution), where the maximum funding request per proposal was set to 180,000 €. The Open Call also defined the following conditions for number of proposals to be accepted per category:
- Minimum 3 proposals to be accepted in category 1
- Maximum 3 proposals to be accepted in category 2
- Maximum 1 proposal to be accepted in category 3
